Quality time
Known as the Russian summer destination #1 Sochi has much to offer to everybody who comes to spend some quality time.
Sochi has a diverse, dynamic and eclectic culture. Residents and visitors alike are offered a myriad of events, attractions and entertainments … non-stop …yearlong…
Shop Till You Drop!
Like most summer destinations of the world, Sochi truly offers something for everyone.
The favorite pastimes of every tourist (after visiting the sights, of course) is shopping. In Sochi you can shop for different things, starting from souvenirs and local craft items to … well, strangely enough but there were some Americans who missed their chance to buy a fur hat in Moscow thus they were ecstatic to discover a couple of good stores with a huge range of winter items – here – in a primarily summer destination!
Russians just love to shop. Be it a window shopping or shopping for souvenirs, Sochi center is scattered with warehouses, stores, shops, kiosks, street vendors and vending machines. There is an area right across the city hall resembling a Middle-eastern market called Torgovaya Galereya (Trading Gallery) which occupies 4 city blocks and operates until the last stray visitor leaves the perimeter.
The Russian currency is the Ruble. Street markets will require cash whereas most major department stores will accept credit cards. According to the recently introduced legislation shops cannot accept any currency but ruble. Therefore, to accept or not to accept the dollar is up to a particular shop assistant.
